The Transport Manger Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Qualification course will enable the delegate to receive a formal Transport Manager CPC qualification should they pass the two required exams.
The OCR CPC qualification is currently a lifetime award, which means that, once obtained, the qualification will not expire, and holders will be considered professionally competent for the rest of their lives.
A candidate achieving a Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage has the following progression routes available:
• enter the profession of Transport Manager
• undertake higher level qualifications part-time or full-time in further or higher education, e.g. HNC, HND, degree
• undertake additional complementary qualifications in the workplace e.g. Level 3 Certificate in Logistics Operations or Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Management.
The course is suitable for delegates looking to become Transport Managers/Fleet Managers.
It is also suitable for individuals who may have the responsibility of managing a company’s Operator Licence, to further understand and enhance their knowledge of running a successful transport operation.
The course is run in two, 5-day blocks with a gap in between to enable delegates to plan, have a break and refresh their knowledge.
OCR, one of the approved accreditation bodies for the CPC in road haulage, consists of a multiple-choice exam and a case study exam.
Students will need to pass two examinations to gain the Certificate of Professional Competence for Road Haulage.
Both elements test national and international knowledge and application.
Examinations take place four times every year, in March, June, September and December.
The cost for the 10 days of training is £1,250+vat. This price includes examination fees and materials costs.
This training and qualification is also eligible and approved under the Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme from the MOD, which entitles service personnel and service leavers to receive financial help with the cost of their learning.
