Fleet Source, a leading provider of unrivalled training for the road transport industry, has been presented with the ‘Innovation’ award at this years What van? awards.

Fleet Source designed TRIP to educate operators, managers and drivers about the risks of terrorism, the nature of the threats they may be confronted with, and the range of precautions they can take to significantly reduce the likelihood of their vehicles being hijacked or stolen and subsequently used in a terrorist attack.

“Fleet Source’s TRIP (Terrorism Risk and Incident Prevention) package is an innovation truly worthy of the name and extremely apposite in times that have seen our cities come under attack from DIY terrorists using commercial vehicles as deadly weapons.” said James Dallas, Editor of What Van? Magazine.

“Terrorists are opportunists, they know that using an HGV as a weapon could maximize death and injury,” said Nick Caesari, Managing Director, Fleet Source. “Following the recent major VAAW (Vehicle as a Weapon) incidents and with the UK being on a severe level of terrorist alert, we believed that Fleet Source had an obligation to the industry and the general public to invest in a dedicated set of solutions to help address this important issue. We are thrilled to have received the innovation award for TRIP and we would like to thank the team at What Van? and everyone involved in the judging process,” Nick concluded.
