Fleet Source Finalists in Talent in Logistics Awards 2018!
Fleet Source are pleased to announce that we are finalists in the Talent in Logistics Awards for the ‘Training Programme of the Year’ 2018.
It is the first time Fleet Source have entered the awards and we are extremely pleased at being awarded Finalists for the prestigious event taking place at the Telford International Centre on the 21st June 2018.
Fleet Source’s Terrorism Risk and Incident Prevention (TRIP) driver training was the first, dedicated counter-terrorism CPC training course launched to the industry in October 2017.
“With over 35% of our work force being from a military and policing background, with many having extensive counter-terrorism experience, we felt that we were perfectly positioned to help educate fleet operators, managers and drivers in taking the necessary precautions and to make sure they are doing absolutely everything possible to prevent their vehicle from being hijacked or stolen and used as a weapon in an attack. Safety and protecting lives is a part of our day job, and the TRIP programme is a natural extension of what we at Fleet Source provide.” Nick Caesari, Managing Director, Fleet Source.
Since it’s launch, over 3,000 professional drivers have attended a TRIP course across the UK. TRIP has also been previously awarded the ‘Innovation’ 2018 Award at the What Van? 2018 Awards and has been featured on multiple BBC Radio stations and in industry publications.
Fleet Source entered TRIP for ‘Training Programme of the Year’ for the Talent in Logistics Awards 2018 to raise awareness of the devastating trend of vehicle as a weapon (VAAW) attacks and to highlight what commercial drivers and operators can do to reduce their risks to both themselves, their vehicles and the public.
“Having worked with Fleet Source on a number of programmes around driver engagement and safety, we have put forward delegates for the initial sessions. With a large UK based fleet we are keen to keep our drivers informed and aware of the many situations they may face as a part of their role.” Graham Bellman, Group Fleet Director, Travis Perkins.
