Fleet Source are proud to be the largest provider of Safe Urban Driving training in the UK.
What is the course about?
An increase in population across cities and towns in the UK adds to the challenges and hazards of driving. To help improve road safety, safe urban driving focuses on understanding how vulnerable road users behave and gives drivers a first hand experience of being a vulnerable road user.
Currently (as of June 2020 until further notice) our courses are covering the THEORY ONLY with no practical on-cycle module being delivered. The theory element is a 3.5hr module delivered in an AM or PM slot and will not contribute toward driver CPC.
During the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to provide support to FORS members, FORS has introduced a temporary relaxation for meeting the work-related road risk (WRRR) professional development requirement S5 for FORS members wishing to progress to Silver, or renewing their Silver accreditation. This means that until further notice from FORS, members will be able to pass the WRRR training requirements by undertaking the theory part only of Safe Urban Driving or Van Smart, with the practical on-cycle element undertaken by the time of the following yearly Silver re-approval audit. These will also be TfL funded training and we will communicate dates and venues later in the year.
Who should attend the course?
All commercial drivers operating in the urban environment where there is a high risk to vulnerable road users such as cyclists and pedestrians.
Fully aligned to meet FORS Silver accreditation, CLOCS standards and contractual work-related road risk (WRRR) requirements
JAUPT approved for up to 24 delegates
